The MyVuBo Privacy Policy gives general information on the use of your personal info for MyVuBo and all our websites. Generally you will find this privacy in the footer of each MyVuBo page. This privacy policy applies to all and any of our domains or subdomains and is the privacy policy that is available through the footer of each VuBo, LLC website.
By accepting this Privacy Policy and the Terms & Conditions in registration, you expressly consent and understand our compilation, storage, use, and admission of your personal information as described in this Privacy Policy. The MyVuBo Privacy Policy is effective upon acceptance for all users and is otherwise effective on March 16, 2008.
The act of browsing MyVuBo’s public pages is always permitted. However, once you have submitted your personal information, you are no longer unidentified to us. If you decide to present MyVuBo with personal information, then you agree to and understand the relocation and storage of that information into servers located within the United States.
MyVuBo may gather and store the following personal information:
actual contact information, email address, oocasional financial information, such as credit card or bank account numbers. Transaction information of all your activities on MyVuBo such as bidding, selling, buying items, and business you generate, shipping, billing, other information you provide to purchase and ship an item; or all that relates to your MyVuBo account. Also including, community discussions, dispute resolution, chats, correspondence through MyVuBo, and in any correspondence sent to MyVuBo. ALL information from your business with MyVuBo and VuBo, LLC, services, content, advertising, computer and connection information, statistics on page views, traffic to and fro, ad data, IP addresses, standard website login/out information, information from other companies, for instance, demographic and traffic data. Also, other additional information from third parties (for debt collection purposes).
MyVuBo does not sell your personal information for marketing purposes without your consent. MyVuBo may combine your information with information collected from other companies and use it for improvements of our site, services, advertising, and content. If you do not want to receive a newsletter and/or marketing information from MyVuBo, just indicate your preferences once you login to the Members area under your profile information.
MyVuBo has collected your personal information in order to provide an enjoyable, safe, and unique experience. MyVuBo’s Privacy Policy states that MyVuBo may use your personal information to:
provide the services and customer support you require, dispute resolution, fee collection, troubleshooting, prevent latently prohibited or illegal activities, enforce our Terms & Conditions, customizing the unique experience, guide, measure, and improve our services, advertising, and content, marketing information, site/service updates; compare information for accuracy, and verify it with third parties; and promos based on your preferences.
All the MyVuBo user information, in is stored on servers located within the United States. Data is extremely valuable to MyVuBo, and it must have protection and we utilize all the tools available (passwords, encryption, security, etc.) to protect your personal information against unlawful access and disclosure. On the other hand, and hopefully you know this, third parties may unlawfully capture or access transmissions or private interactions, and others may misuse or exploit your personal information that they gather from the site. Consequently, although a lot of work goes into protecting your privacy, we do not and cannot guarantee, or any way assure that your personal information or private communications will continue to be private.
We may disclose personal information to respond to and enforce our Terms & Conditions, legal requests, respond to any claim that a listing or other content violates the rights of others, or to protect anyone's rights, property, safety. MyVuBo may also share your personal information with:
- MyVuBo service providers, which are under contract with MyVuBo, and help with our business operations (such as bill collection, fraud investigations, and co-branded credit cards).
- Third parties to whom you openly ask MyVuBo to send your information (or about whom you are otherwise notified and consent to when using a specific service).
- Law enforcement and/or other governmental officials, in response to a verified request relating to a criminal investigation or alleged illegal activity. In such events, we will disclose all information relevant and necessary for the investigation. This will include all transactions and communications on, through, or with MyVuBo.
- Other business entities, should any outside business entities agree to merge with or purchase MyVuBo. (Should such a combination occur, we will request that the new entity follow this privacy policy with full regard to your personal information. If your personal information is used or this policy is changed, then you will receive prior notice.)
Without restricting the afore mentioned, in an effort to have a high regard for your privacy and our ability to provide a uniquely safe experience, MyVuBo will not otherwise disclose your personal information to law enforcement, other government officials, or other third parties without a subpoena, court order or substantially similar legal procedure, except when we feel that the disclosure of information is needed to prevent imminent physical harm, financial loss, or to report suspected illegal activity.
The password you choose is the only means to accessing your account. Choose wisely and use a mix of characters and numbers, and never disclose your MyVuBo password to anyone. In case you do share your personal information or your password with others, remember that you created the account and are therefore responsible for all actions taken on or through your account. Losing control of your password can cause the loss of considerable control over your personal information and may be subject to legally binding dealings taken on/in your behalf. So, if your password has been compromised for any reason, you should directly notify MyVuBo and make the proper changes to your account and password.
Your MyVuBo ID (username) is displayed throughout MyVuBo and is therefore available to the public. All of your activities on MyVuBo is distinguishable to your MyVuBo ID (username). Others may view your bids, previously purchased items, items you are selling, store fronts, reputation, feedback, ratings, and all associated comments, etcetera. Notices will be sent to other MyVuBo members regarding suspicious activity and Terms & Conditions violations within MyVuBo and refer to MyVuBo IDs (usernames) and specific items. For that reason, if you associate your name with your MyVuBo ID (username), others to whom you have disclosed your name will be able to individually identify your MyVuBo activities.
In order to complete transactions on MyVuBo you will be able to share personal and financial information. You are encouraged to reveal your own privacy policies and respect the privacy of other users. MyVuBo does not and cannot guarantee the privacy or security of your information and so we promote the use and evaluation of the privacy and security policies of your trading partner/customer before moving forward with a transaction and deciding to share your information. In order to help you protect your privacy, MyVuBo will only allow restricted access to other users' contact, shipping, and financial information to smooth the progress of your transactions. When MyVuBo users are involved in a transaction, they should be able to access each other's name, MyVuBo ID (username), email address, and other contact and shipping information. In all of these circumstances, others must be given an opportunity to remove themselves from your database and records. You agree that the use of user information is explicitly for:
- MyVuBo transaction-related activities that are not unsolicited activities of any sort,
- using services offered through MyVuBo (i.e. shipping and fraud complaints),
- or other activities that the user specifically chooses.
MyVuBo uses "cookies" (small files placed on your hard drive) on certain MyVuBo pages in order to analyze our web page flow; customize/improve our services, advertising, and content; also to measure the effectiveness of our promotions, and to promote trust, safety, and a unique experience.
A few important things you should know about cookies are that:
- Certain MyVuBo features are available only through the use of cookies. MyVuBo uses cookies in order to identify you and sustain your signed-in status.
- Most cookies are "session cookies," meaning that they are automatically deleted from your hard drive at the end of a session.
- You can at any time decline our cookies, if your browser permits. However, doing so may impede your use of some of MyVuBo and MyVuBo’s services.
- You may discover cookies from third parties on some pages of MyVuBo that we do not control. Contact the third party concerning those cookies, as we have nothing to do with them.
MyVuBo and its users do not tolerate spam. Be sure to select the proper notification preferences to enable your communication preferences. You are not permitted to add other MyVuBo users, even if that user has purchased an item from you, to your mailing list (email or physical mail) without their written consent. Please report MyVuBo related spam or spoof (fake) emails to MyVuBo through the Contact Us page. You are not permitted to use MyVuBo’s communication tools to send spam or otherwise send content that would violate our Terms & Conditions. MyVuBo routinely scans and may manually filter messages to check for viruses, spam, phishing attacks, and other malicious activities or illegal or prohibited content, however messages sent through these tools are not stored permanently. If an email is sent to an email address that is not registered to MyVuBo, then that email is not stored permanently or used for any marketing purposes.
In order to view, review, and modify most of your personal information, just login to MyVuBo. Usually, the MyVuBo staff will not manually change your personal information because it is difficult to validate your identity remotely. You should swiftly update your personal information if it needs modification, updates or is imprecise. Once have made a public post, modifying you information is limited. You may request to close your account at anytime, the MyVuBo staff will close and remove your account and personal information from public view as quickly as reasonably possible, subject to your account activity also in accordance with applicable law. MyVuBo will save personal information from all closed accounts in order to collect any and all fees owed, comply with law, prevent fraud, dispute resolution, troubleshooting, support for any investigations, enforce the MyVuBo Terms & Conditions, and take other actions otherwise permitted by law.
In continuance with this Privacy Policy, this privacy policy discusses only the aplication and release of the information we have collected from you. However, when you give your information to people, whether they are buying, bidding, or selling on this site or other websites all over the Internet, another set of policies may apply to their employ or disclosure of the information you give out. Third parties have privacy policies that are outside of MyVuBo’s control, and you are subject to the privacy policies of those third parties where applicable. MyVuBo suggests that you make several inquiries before you decide to give your personal information to others.
This Privacy Policy is subject to change at any time, and the changes will be posted on MyVuBo. All changes will automatically take effect immediately, unless otherwise posted on MyVuBo.
